What to Expect at Your First At-Home Beauty Appointment
Booking a stylist or makeup artist to come to your door removes the salon commute entirely — but if you have never done it, it helps to know how the appointment actually runs.
Before the artist arrives
Your artist needs about a metre of clear space near a power outlet, and good light. A kitchen table by a window beats a dim bathroom every time. If you booked a hair service that involves washing, make sure sink access is clear.
When they arrive
Your artist brings everything: tools, products, a chair or ring light where needed. Expect a short consultation first — this is where your inspiration photos matter. Upload them when you book so the artist arrives already knowing the look.
During the service
Most blowouts run 45 to 60 minutes, makeup 60 to 75, and special occasion work up to 105. Speak up early if something is not going the way you pictured; adjusting mid-way is normal and far easier than starting over.
Afterwards
Payment is already handled through the app, so there is no awkward card moment at the door. Tips can be added at checkout and go entirely to your artist. Leave a review once the booking is marked complete — it is the single most useful thing you can do for a good artist.
