How to Make a Professional Blowout Last Five Days
Glamly · 7/15/2026
You paid for the blowout. Here is how to get a full week out of it.
1. Skip the shower steam
Humidity is the enemy. Shower cooler, and use a proper shower cap — not a towel turban.
2. Dry shampoo on night one, not day three
Counterintuitive but true. Applying dry shampoo to clean roots before oil appears buys you two extra days.
3. Sleep on silk
Cotton pillowcases create friction and frizz. A silk or satin pillowcase is the cheapest blowout extender there is.
4. Loose pineapple, never a tight tie
Gather hair loosely on top of your head with a soft scrunchie. Elastics leave dents you cannot brush out.
5. Cool air only for touch-ups
If you need to revive a section, use the cool setting. Heat on already-styled hair breaks the cuticle down fast.
6. Book the next one before you leave
Rebooking with the same artist means they already know your hair, your density, and the finish you like.
